The product liability lawyers at SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION write to advise of an urgent product recall, issued in conjunction with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission “CPSC” involving New Age Industries (“New Age”) Furniture tip kits or tip restraints. The hazard associated with these products involves the plastic zip ties used with the recalled furniture tip kits. These ties can break, which, in turn, can cause a clothing storage unit anchored to the wall to detach during a furniture tip-over event. This poses an unacceptable risk of tip-over and entrapment hazards which may result in serious injuries or death to children.
These various units were recalled on or about January 11, 2024, and millions of these units are currently in distribution throughout the U.S. Significantly, this recall involves the various, plastic New Age furniture tip restraint kits that were sold by many different furniture companies with clothing storage units.
Some of these participating furniture companies include:
American Drew;
American Woodcrafters;
Amini Innovation Corporation;
Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC;
Aspenhome;
Austin Group Furniture, LLC;
Avalon International Inc., LLC;
Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc.;

These various tip restraint kits included a plastic zip-tie and multiple brackets with two screws and were typically sold with clothing storage units. These recalled products were manufactured in Vietnam. For product identification purposes, the manufacturing date is listed on the sticker or stamped on the storage unit as November ‘19 or later. The bottom of the packaging states “Manufactured by New Age Industries.”
The various furniture companies have already received multiple reports from the field concerning the New Age tip kits breaking. Again, these recalled products were sold at retail within furniture stores nationwide and online from the period November 2019 through present day. CPSC has assigned recall number 24-078 for these products.
