The product liability lawyers at SHOOP | A PROFESSIONAL LAW CORPORATION write to advise that Fisher-Price, in conjunction and cooperation with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) are voluntarily recalling their Snugga Infant Swings due to associated suffocation hazards. The product defect associated with these swings arises when the product is used for sleeping or if bedding material is added, the headrest and body support situated on the seat can significantly increase the risk of suffocation.
All models of Fisher-Price Snuga Swings were recalled on October 10, 2024, of which approximately 2.1 million units are currently in distribution in the United States and roughly 100,000 swings were sold in Canada.
Tragically, between 2012 and 2022, there have been reports of five (5) deaths involving infants ranging from one to three months of age. For product identification purposes, these recalled Snuga Swings are infant swings with front - back and side-side motion. The Snuga Swing line of products include 21 model-types which feature nearly identical product design with only minor variance in fabric color schemes and accessories. The following chart includes a complete list of Snuga Swing models included in the recall. The model number and name are printed on the underside of the swing motor housing:

These recalled Snuga Swings were sold at retail at Amazon, Toys R Us, Walmart, and Target stores nationally from October 2010 through January 2024. The price point was approximately $160. They were distributed by Fisher-Price of East Aurora, New York and manufactured in China and Mexico
